99-Day Campaign for HOPE: 1 lakh petitions collected demanding GHT as a National Pride Project

Kathmandu: 99 youth of Nepal, calling themselves Himalayan Warriors collected petitions from 1 lakh Nepali citizens in favor of their demand with the government of Nepal to declare the climate-smart Great Himalaya Trails as a National Pride Project. The Himalayan Warriors came together and launched a 99-day Campaign named HOPE on January 15, 2017 through which they were demanding the government of Nepal and the international community to step up and take responsibility for the climate injustice perpetuated on the Himalayan Communities. Himalayan Communities leaders published and launched a research book on adversities of Climate Change in the Himalayas

Kathmandu: Himalayan Communities leaders associated with Climate Alliance of Himalayan Communities (CAHC) launched a research book on adversities of Climate Change in the Himalayas with recommendation of possible solutions. CAHC, which is one of HCI’s initiative, is an advocacy organization carrying the authentic voice of Himalayan Communities living under the foothills of the Himalayas. Paras Khadka joins National Volunteer as the Goodwill Ambassador, pledges to help raise 1,00,000 scholarships

Kathmandu: In a program held at the office of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) at Singhadurbar, Nepal’s National Cricket Team Captain Paras Khadka is appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of National Volunteer Nepal (NVN)- the official volunteering network of Nepal set up jointly by the Government of Nepal and Himalayan Climate Initiative in the wake of the recent disastrous earthquake. 696 Resilient Homes built for earthquake victims: Core group of National Volunteers got felicitated by National Reconstruction Authority of Nepal

Kathmandu: The core group of National Volunteers including HCI co-founder Dawa Steven Sherpa who helped raise resources to build 696 Resilient Homes got felicitated by National Reconstruction Authority (NRA). In a program held at the office premises of NRA inside Singhadurbar, Kathmandu, HCI co-founder Dawa Steven Sherpa and his friends Aditi Shrestha, Astha Thapa Pandey, Jaboc Rinck, Saurab SJB Rana were felicitated by the NRA CEO Govind Raj Pokhrel. Advocating for Women Voices through The Vagina Monologues: Third successful season of V-Day Kathmandu

Kathmandu: Third season of The V-Day Kathmandu (Vagina Monologues) was successfully organized by Hamri Bahini 25th and 26th of February, 2017. Since 2015, Hamri Bahini has been organizing this act of performance based on an episodic play written by Eve Ensler as a part of its advocacy movement raising voices for women related issues.
