Nagar Mitra team members amplify its awareness program

14 December 2015: 35 students from Trinity Co-Education visited Himalayan Climate Initiative Social Enterprise section situated at Maharagunj. The teachers were aware about the Nagar Mitra – Friends of the City program and they desired to educate/aware students regarding the program’s agenda. Nagar Mitra – Friends of the City program has promoted the recycling and up cycling of the used PET bottles and has been working for the benefit of waste workers. Roshna Subedi , Ujjani Khadka and Sanchita Chapagain oriented the students about Nagar Mitra program. This two hours session also engaged students in up cycling the PET bottles. Hamri Bahini participates in Christmas Bazar

12 December 2015: Christmas Bazaar which is organized yearly on the month of December, this time also has been organized in different places by different people/organizations. Hamri Bahini participated in such four Christmas Bazars at Hyaat Regency, GIZ office premises, Artisan Christmas bazar at BAC Bikalpa Art Center (Pulchowk). In the bazaar, up-cycled bags made up of jute and jeans were displayed. Upcycled bags made up of jeans were the main attraction for many of the visitors. Also, bags made up of cotton , allo and hemp which are made by didi-bahini were displayed. Since, it was a great opportunity to display the local green products available at Hamri Bahini Ko Pasal, all the products of shop were displayed in the market. International Volunteer Day celebrated

5 December 2015: United Nations Volunteers (UNV) organized a rally (cycling/walking) on the occasion of International Volunteer Day. National Volunteers showed their active presence in the rally. Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Mr. Bhim Bahadur Rawal and country director of UNDP in Nepal Renaud Meyer were the chief guest of the event. Volunteers celebrated volunteerism in Nepal with a cycle and walking rally which converged into a celebration event at Bhrikuti Mandap. National Volunteers participated in the Climate March

28 November 2015: Climate March was jointly organized by different organizations such as BYND 2015 – Nepal Hub, Car Free Cities, Debate Yatra, Digo Bikas Institute, Himalayan Climate Initiative, Nepalese youth for Climate Action, Jiwanta Nepal, We Inspire Nepal, youth Alliance for Environment and YUWA. Hundreds of people marched from Bhrikutimandap to Basantapur Durbar Square demanding climate justice in the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, France.
