50 Sadbhaw Scholarships to the students of Rasuwa

5 Jan 2016: Sadbhaw Scholarships – Nepali Le Nepali Laai distributed 50 Scholarships to the most needy students in Haku Ma.Vi. and Rasuwa Ma.Vi in Dhunche. Most of them had walked 5 hours to attend the scholarships distribution event. Students received certificate, pencils, pens, copies enough for a year, instrument box, calculator, bag, shoes and school dress.Despite being displaced from their village for 8 months due to earthquake, 23 of the students are appearing School Leaving Certificates exams and attending schools in the extremely cold winter. Sadbhaw Scholarships distributed to the kids of waste workers

26 December 2015: Nagar Mitra – Friends of the City has been working basically in the four fields (Health, Education, Capacity and Skill building and social recognition) to uplift the lives of Nagar Mitras (waste workers). In order to encourage waste worker’s children to study and attend school, 35 students were provided with Sadbhaw Scholarships – Nepali Le Nepali Laai. For the first time, Sadbhaw scholarships were distributed to the students studying in Kathmandu. Earlier, scholarships were distributed to the needy yet deserving students in rural areas. As the scholarships, school uniforms, shoes, bags and stationeries were provided to the students sufficient for a year. NVP district coordinators get training on sustainability

19 and 20 December 2015: National Volunteering Program organized two days long Impact leadership Development program specifically for all the district coordinators that NVP has appointed so far. The objective of ILDP program was to educate the district coordinators the importance of sustainability and the various approaches on sustainable development. The first day started with a formal session inviting Mr. Tulasi Prasad Gautam - Joint Secretary of National Planning Commission as the Chief Guest, Mr. Shivaraj Chaulagain, Director of National Development Volunteers Service as Special Guest of the program. Sadbhaw Scholarships distributed to the needy students at Gorkha

17 Dec 2015: 25 students from 16 schools at Gorkha were awarded with Sadbhaw Scholarships.  As the scholarship, students were provided with school uniform, shoes, stationeries and a calculator. Santosh Ojha – Program lead of Sadbhaw Scholarships along with a volunteer Rohit Singh travelled to Gorkha to distribute the scholarships. Surakxit Ghar - Resilient Home constructed earthquake resistant homes at Rasuwa

16 December 2015: 30 units of Resilient Homes were distributed to Nessing one of the village at Rasuwa district which is also one of the most earthquake affected districts. Almost 95% houses were destroyed in Nessing, Rasuwa. Travelling around 10 hours by jeep and then almost 5-6 hours walking leads to the village. Shilshila Acharya, Head of programs in HCI travelled to Rasuwa after earthquake. She shared, “Families are residing in the shelter of tarpaulins.
