696 Resilient Homes built for earthquake victims: Core group of National Volunteers got felicitated by National Reconstruction Authority of Nepal

Kathmandu: The core group of National Volunteers including HCI co-founder Dawa Steven Sherpa who helped raise resources to build 696 Resilient Homes got felicitated by National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).

In a program held at the office premises of NRA inside Singhadurbar, Kathmandu, HCI co-founder Dawa Steven Sherpa and his friends Aditi Shrestha, Astha Thapa Pandey, Jaboc Rinck, Saurab SJB Rana were felicitated by the NRA CEO Govind Raj Pokhrel.

Immediately after the massive earthquake of April 2015, this group of volunteers started raising resources within and outside Nepal so that they can provide some significant help to the quake victims. With the resources raised, HCI started Suraksit Ghar-Resilient Homes initiative through which 696 homes were built for the victims of the most affected districts which provided shelter to more than 2784 people approximately.

Along with them the Resilient Homes team members who worked day and night to reach to the earthquake affected areas and distribute the kits to the victims were also felicitated.
