Kathmandu: The first series of Sadbhaw Corporate Futsal Tournament was held on Saturday where 12 renowned Corporate Houses and organizations of Nepal participated and distributed Sadbhaw Scholarships to 31 needy Nepali children.
Smart Foods and Snacks Pvt.Ltd. won the one-day tournament held at X-cel Futsal ground at Baluwatar, Kathmandu, whereas, Florid Laboratories grabbed the 1st Runners-up position. One child was handed over with Scholarships package by the winning team of each game played on the tournament.
Corporates including Syakar Trading Company, Kumari Bank, e-Sewa, Bajeko Sekuwa, Team Quest- QFX, Sarwottam Cement, Dan Curch Aid, Florid Laboratories, Smart Foods and Snacks, Children’s Joy Foundation, Friend’s Service Council, Nepal, and Om Chao Brio Feed Industries participated in the tournament organized by National Volunteer (one of the initiatives of Himalayan Climate Initiative).
Bijay Bohara from Florid Laboratories became the Man of the Tournament, and Nikesh Maharjan from Smart Foods and Snacks became the Best Goal Keeper. Another player from Smart Foods and Snacks, Anup Adhikari grabbed the Highest Goal Scorer title hitting 17 goals on the entire tournament.
All the teams and the players, keeping aside their win or defeat, enjoyed the tournament held for a good cause.
Similarly, the children receiving Sadbhaw Scholarhsips and their mothers looked very happy. The kids of women associated with Hamri Bahini Social Enterprise (another initiative of HCI) were chosen for the Sholarships who were provided with stationery materials (copy, pen, pencils) enough for a year, instrument box, calculator, school bag, school dress and a pair of shoes.
