30 July 2016: QFX, a top film hall brand of Nepal has installed cycle stands in two of its branches that is, Jai-Nepal and Kumari cinemas. Though it had a very limited parking space, it supported the green cause to promote cycling and took an initiative to install cycle stands. The stands placed in QFX Kumari and Jai Nepal are foldable, and of sleek designs, thus, it doesn’t take much of the parking space.
To commemorate this good green cause of QFX, youth involved in The Green Commuting initiative organised a cycle rally. The rally was started from HCI head office, Baluwatar and ended at the premises of Kumari hall. The rally had the participants of around 70 people. At QFX kumari, the rally was welcomed by CEO of Team-Quest, Mr. Roshan Adiga and Facility Manager Mr. Binod Paudel.
A mini program was conducted in the premises of Kumari hall, CEO of Himalayan Climate Initiative Ms. Shilshila Acharya, Roshan Adiga, Binod paudel inspired the youths to continue their good initiative. At the end of the program a cycle Cut Out was handed over by Shilshila Acharya and Sujal Bhandari- the lead of the Green Commuting initiative to QFX CEO Roshan Adiga and Facility Manager Binod Paudel.
The Green Commuting is an initiative led by the youths who aspire to see Kathmandu as a cycle friendly city one day. These youths are continuously working to set up a cycling culture in the valley. They aim to build up cycle-friendly infrastructures in every nook and corner of the valley.
