Cycle Rally held to aware people of Kathmandu

30 July 2016:

Youth involved with Himalayan Climate Initiative (HCI) organized a Cycle Rally in Kathmandu with dual motive- to encourage people for cycling and to remind people of Kathmandu about the plastic bag ban.

The team of Nagar Mitra- Green Commuting project led by Mr. Sujal Bhandari, and the Campaigners of No Thanks! I Carry My Own Bag Campaign along with other local youth of Kathmandu participated in the Cycle Rally. More than 55 youth wearing the branded white tees of the Campaign rode around the city.

The rally that started from HCI’s head office in Baluwatar went to Ason, New Road, Bhrikuti Mandap and then finally ended at QFX Kumari Hall in Kamalpokhari. The campaigners also distributed phamplets reminding people about the plastic bag ban and making people aware about the harmful effects of plastic bags at various places. 36 campaigners among them also performed a Flash at Kumari Hall premises as a part of the awareness program.

The people who had come to watch movie, and the management of QFX Cinemas were very excited with the youth’s approach and supported their initiatives.
